An Italian Waffle...

No blueberries, no chocolate, no whipped cream on this waffling... Its simply me making tough business decisions just like you have to make. I'm having new business cards made and I really want them to stand out, to show the creativity & fun we bring to business at SaySomethingImportant.


I'm also on a budget.

And the cards I want are over my budget. By 30%. In my world, that's a lot. So now I'm finding myself looking at cheaper options. I don't like that one bit.

I'm Italian; my grandfather would tell me "Screw it...do it!"

Sometimes you've just got to do it.

Head Cheese, Mortadella, Drisheens...and how you market yourself!

How did you come up with your ad campaign? I'm for real. You can't just look at the calendar, realize that it's Autumn and decide to have a "Prices Are FALLing This Season" sale. Check that, you CAN...but you'd be a tool for it.

So, HOW do you come up with that magic bullet? That commercial or ad or promotion that has'm beating a path to your door?

With a STRATEGY, of course! But here's the thing...coming up with that strategy can get ugly. There's that adage: You may like the taste of sausage, but you don't want to see how its made!

The up front work can get ugly. Personal. Frustrating. Time consuming. But in the end, when you find that golden nugget of brilliance...that's when you smile wide & know you're on the right track.

So, let's throw some Brats on the grill, crack open a chilly beverage or three and help you Say Something Important!

One point Eight Million Dollars!

Before I started SaySomethingImportant.com, I was the creative director for a group of seven radio stations in the Midwest. We were proponents of creating brands for our advertisers, not just throwing "spots on the dial" for them. When it was time for me to move to Charlotte, they asked that I stay on as a consultant for several key clients...and I gladly did.

I got a note yesterday from my good friend Steve, a senior account manager for that company. One of the accounts he & I still work on together was in the running for their "Effy" award for the most effective ad campaign. It's not based on razzle dazzle ads, rather, it's on the growth of the client's bottom line.

We won!

The local franchisee for Gutter Topper has been with us for a couple of years and the numbers for his first full year of a branding campaign came in... His annual revenue grew from $860,000 to $1.8 MILLION DOLLARS in just one year! He more than doubled his company by building his brand.

Slowly. Consistently. Methodically. Strategically.
